See the Great Barrier Reef as you've never seen it before — from 1,000 metres above, where the full scale of the world's largest coral reef system stretches to the horizon in an impossibly vivid tapestry of greens, blues and turquoise.
The Reef and Rainforest helicopter tour flies over the outer reef to show the dramatic colour contrast between the deep ocean, the coral cay formations, and the sandy channels that run between them. On the return flight, you'll cross over the World Heritage rainforest, offering aerial views of the rainforest canopy and the cane fields of the coastal plain.
Flights are conducted in Robinson R44 helicopters with maximum 4 passengers. The 30-minute option covers the reef highlights; the 60-minute extended tour adds the rainforest and the Atherton Tablelands highlands.
Departure Point: Cairns Marina, Wharf 3, Pier Point Rd, Cairns City QLD 4870.
Check in at least 15 minutes before departure . Parking available at Reef Fleet Terminal carpark (paid). The marina is a 10-minute walk from Cairns CBD along the Esplanade.
