About this experience
The Tully River is Australia's most rafted white water river — 44 rapids over 15 kilometres of pristine World Heritage rainforest gorge. Grade 3–4 rapids make this genuinely exciting without being dangerously advanced, perfect for first-timers who want real adventure.
The day begins with a comprehensive safety briefing and equipment fitting before you hit the water. Experienced raft guides lead small groups of 6–8 through the rapids, navigating the river's dramatic gorges, waterfalls and crystal-clear swimming holes.
Beyond the rapids, the Tully is simply beautiful — rainforest canopy closes overhead, rainbow-coloured kingfishers dart past, and the clear tropical water makes every swimming hole irresistible. A BBQ lunch on the riverbank is included.
Departure Point: Cairns Marina, Wharf 3, Pier Point Rd, Cairns City QLD 4870.
Check in at least 15 minutes before departure . Parking available at Reef Fleet Terminal carpark (paid). The marina is a 10-minute walk from Cairns CBD along the Esplanade.
