About this experience
The Kuranda Scenic Railway is one of Australia's great heritage train journeys — a 37-kilometre ride through rainforest gorges, past fifteen hand-hewn tunnels, and alongside the spectacular Barron Falls. The line was built by hand between 1886 and 1891 and remains an extraordinary feat of engineering.
The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway offers a completely different perspective on the same landscape — gliding silently above the World Heritage rainforest canopy in a gondola for 7.5 kilometres, with two mid-stations where you can walk boardwalk trails through the forest floor.
Combining both in one day is the classic Kuranda experience: take the train up through the gorge in the morning, explore the markets, wildlife sanctuaries and restaurants in Kuranda village, then return by gondola above the canopy in the afternoon. Each direction reveals a completely different view of this remarkable landscape.

Check in at least 15 minutes before departure . Parking available at Reef Fleet Terminal carpark (paid). The marina is a 10-minute walk from Cairns CBD along the Esplanade.
